Located at Eagles Landing Retreat in New Market, AL
(same location, new name, search CAMP MACOBA in maps).
This event is for fathers (or an adult male sponsor) and children in 1st – 5th grades.

Activities include camping in tents, campfires, archery, air guns and blow darts, tomahawks, slingshots, nature hikes, games, and more! Bring a tent, sleeping bags, flashlights, toiletries, and other needed sleeping gear.

Eagles Landing Retreat Camping with Dad Packing List
Wear: Long Pants or jeans; T-Shirt or long-sleeved shirt (as needed); socks and outdoor shoes. A jacket, coat and/or gloves (as needed). A ball cap or other hat is suggested.
STUFF TO BRING (BOLD items are necessary):
  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag and pillow; air mattress (if desired)
  • Flashlight and extra batteries (per person)
  • Refillable Water Bottle (large to minimize refills)
  • Poncho/Rain Coat
  • Jacket/coat, hat and gloves per weather
  • Change of Clothes: Jeans or long pants, T-Shirt and/or long-sleeved shirt, 2 pairs of socks, underwear (long underwear during cold weather is a plus) Sleeping Clothes (clean and dry prior to bed). Hat is also suggested. Dark clothes or camos for night game
  • Toiletries: Comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, and other personal items as needed. If you want to shower there are showers available. Bring shampoo, soap, washcloth and a towel.
  • Sunscreen
  • Camp chairs
  • Football, Frisbees, etc
  • Bible for devotional
  • Cooler*

*All meals provided but you may want a small cooler for personal drinks/snacks.

What NOT to bring:

  • BOYS & GIRLS: Knives or Blades of any kind (adults may bring a knife/blade)
  • Fire makers of any kind (matches/lighters/etc; adults may bring firestarters)
  • Electronics (radios, gameboys, phones, tablets…etc)

Directions:

Drive North on Winchester Road through New Market. When you pass the Post Office and cross the bridge, Hillsboro Drive is about 1.2 miles on the left. There is a cell phone tower and a Camp MACOBA sign on the right side of the road where you turn left onto Hillsboro Circle. Then take the next left and follow the road around into camp.

Rules:

  • No fires except in designated areas.
  • Always have a buddy.
  • Let your dad or another adult know where you are going and who you are going with.
  • Respect others and be considerate of everyone.
  • No sticks in the pavilion or on the deck.
  • An adult must be with you to fish or play around the lakes.
  • The obstacle course is only to be used with your group during Saturday activities.
  • Please be quiet during quiet hours out of respect for others, BUT you may be as loud as you want other times.
