ISAIAH

LED BY TOM THOMPSON

Huntsville Campus, starting August 14

Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30 PM
Cost: $5 optional notebooks

Isaiah the Prophet ministered to the nation of Judah during a time of great economic prosperity but moral and spiritual depravity.  The majority of the people had rejected God and were worshiping idols and pursuing financial gain.  Isaiah delivered an unpopular message of judgment to a stubborn and prideful people who refused to humble themselves and seek God’s forgiveness.  However, Isaiah also prophesied about the ultimate spiritual restoration of the Jewish people when the Messiah returns to earth to rule from Jerusalem.  Join us as we study Isaiah’s life and times, his warnings of judgment to a nation not unlike ours of today, and his message of salvation and eternal peace for God’s people.  The class will be conducted in a hybrid format (students will have a choice of participating online or in person).  PowerPoint slides will be provided in electronic and printed format.

Madison Campus, The Huddle

No childcare
Saturdays, 10-11:30 AM
Cost: FREE. Will need access to the Bible APP and The Bible Recap podcast by Tara-Leigh Cobble (instructions below). No childcare

Have you ever closed your Bible and wondered what you just read, or tried to read through the Bible in a year, but quit when it felt confusing or impersonal? Are you one of the many who has read through the book of Genesis approximately 20 times, but haven’t gotten to anything beyond that?

The Bible Recap is here to help! Each day you’ll read the assigned reading then listen to The Bible Recap podcast. Tara-Leigh will highlight and summarize that day’s Bible reading in a quick (~8 minutes), casual, and easy to understand way. The Bible Recap will not only help you read scripture but help you love reading it. This group meets monthly for fellowship & discussion

NOTE: No need to purchase a print Chronological Bible; it will likely be laid out differently than our reading plan. All you need is a regular Bible (print or app) and access to The Bible Recap Podcast. You can purchase the optional Bible Recap Journal, if you wish.

Meets on the first Saturday of each month for fellowship & discussion.
