The class will be conducted in a hybrid format (students will have the option to participate online or in-person).  PowerPoint slides will be provided in electronic and printed format (notebooks can be purchased for $5).

We are closer to the return of Christ than any generation previously. We ought to live as though the return of Christ is imminent. The Seven Letters, found at the beginning of the Book of Revelation, were written to churches that were soon facing persecution. These churches were being prepared for things that were soon coming but also entrusted with Revelation regarding things of the future. A public reading and study of these letters offers Revelation, personal admonishment, and acclamations, as well as great encouragement and promises. These Letters are for the Church now as much as they were for the church then. The Word of God is Living and Active. May we find sobering conviction and great comfort as we read these letters together in preparation for the return of Christ. May these letters prepare us to read and study further the Book of Revelation in its entirety. Come, Lord Jesus!

Living life backward means taking the one thing in our future that is certain―death―and letting that inform our journey before we get there.  Keeping the end in mind shapes how we live our lives in the here and now. Looking to the book of Ecclesiastes for wisdom, Living Life Backward was written to shake up our expectations and priorities for what it means to live “the good life.” Considering the reality of death helps us pay attention to our limitations as human beings and receive life as a wondrous gift from God―freeing us to live wisely, generously, and faithfully for God’s glory and the good of his world.
