Registration for the 2017-18 school year is ongoing.

  • Some of our classes are full.

Please call WEE at 256-382-5150 for more information or stop by for a tour.

As the friendliest half-day Christian preschool in Huntsville, WEE has a stellar reputation.  Administrators and teachers all over town tell us they can spot a former WEE student immediately.  Our students excel at school readiness: playing nicely, speaking respectfully to adults, taking care of classroom materials and managing age-appropriate tasks independently.  In short, they are a pleasure to teach because they leave WEE with the basics firmly in place.

Here's an overview of the entire program.

When you think about putting your child in a Preschool or Mother’s Morning Out, what are you looking for?

A safe place where your child will be loved and carefully watched over by two teachers while you work or run errands?

A fun, bright, clean place, where he/she will have a chance to fingerpaint and play with play dough and sing and run on the playground?

A place where your child will not only be taught the developmental and academic skills necessary for big school but will discover that learning is exciting?

A place where God is at the center of every day, from Christian teachers who pray with their classes to Chapel and interactive Bible Storytime?

Willowbrook Weekday Early Education is all that, and so much more. Just ask your friends and neighbors. The vast majority of our students have come to us by word of mouth. We’d love the opportunity to show around our school where you’ll see, by the smiles on our staff and students, that Willowbrook WEE is the place to be.

MOTHER’S MORNING OUT
(See “Classes” section for specifics on ages/cost)
Even the youngest children can benefit from being in a school setting with other little people their size. Our MOM’s children learn how to play with their new friends and how to be a part of a group in a loving environment. They sing songs and dance, listen to stories, do art, go for bye-bye buggie rides, play with toys and run around on the indoor and outdoor toddler playgrounds.

PRESCHOOL
(See “Classes” section for specifics on ages/cost)
The children in our three year old program learn through play as they develop cognitive, language and physical skills. We also foster socialization and independence while providing lots of enrichment activities. In a class studying winter, for example, the children wear pajamas and bring their favorite teddy bear to school, where they pretend to hibernate in a “cave” their teachers have made. They enjoy bear claw biscuits at lunch and paint winter snow pictures with shaving foam and glitter. Songs, fingerplays and books about bears finish out the day. We’re never surprised when our students want to continue being “bears” at home, filling you in on what they’ve learned!

Our four year old program continues to build on the strengths of the threes, while introducing academic goals. Our teachers work with their students on enhancing fine motor skills, recognizing and printing upper and lower case letters, drawing shapes, understanding sequencing and patterning, mastering number concepts and achieving reading readiness. Mixed into all of this is myriad of fun activities. On any given day, you might see a class studying the letter U having an umbrella parade and eating upside down cupcakes before going to a letter U scavenger hunt through the preschool. Field trips are another fun part of the fours, from trips to the Fire Station to a visit to a local veterinarian. Our goal for the fours is to prepare them for kindergarten, whether public, private or our own WEE kindergarten.

KINDERGARTEN
(See “Classes” section for specifics on cost)
WEE offers an outstanding Kindergarten program with excellent teachers and a curriculum second to none. Here are just a few things that make this class so special:

Christian education – God is in the classroom every single day, in both prayer and attitude.

Excellent curriculum — Wonders is a cutting-edge, interactive curriculum by McGraw Hill that meets current school board standards. This challenging and fun program is tailored to each child’s level and includes:
Leveled readers
Sight words
Sentence structure
Parts of speech
Vocabulary
Punctuation
Comprehension
Interactive learning songs and poetry on online curriculum
Minimal use of IPads for learning games that reinforce skills covered in curriculum

Half day – while a 6 ½ hour school day may seem more convenient from a parent’s perspective, many children are not ready for such a long day at age 5 or 6. We offer the much-needed option of a shorter day packed with learning and fun.
In short, our kindergarten will help your child be well-prepared for the next step in his/her education. The emphasis is on individual and small group learning, with regular assessments rather than benchmark testing. We encourage you to come by and see for yourself what makes WEE’s kindergarten different than any other.
