What we do every week.

Sunday Mornings

The same class is offered both at 9:30 and 11:00. We begin with a worship song using a DVD with lyrics followed by an engaging short Bible Story on DVD using the Gospel Project curriculum. We then have activities to learn the unit memory verse, review the lesson and help them understand how it can fit into their everyday life. Children are sent home each week with their Journal Page that has a letter to parents about the lesson and key passage from that morning as well as review questions, short family activity and note about next Sunday’s lesson.

Sunday Nights

Begins at 4:15 until 6:30pm while parents attend adult life group. Children are given a Bible lesson with 252 Basics curriculum using a DVD lesson and activities to help them apply it to daily life. They also play games and have free time. Children may bring a sack dinner or snacks with them to eat at beginning of class if they choose. Children are sent home with a GodTime sheet, a four day devotion that kids can use that week.

Wednesday Nights

During the school year, we meet from 6:30-8pm with all GoKids together in one class for missions called Children in Action. Kids learn about missions across the US and the world as well as our own community through stories, crafts, mission activities, and guest speakers.

Checking In/Out

Parent Pager is used for checking children in and out of class. You will need to register your child in the system only once by completing a visitor information form at either the preschool or GoKids desk (to the right as you enter). Parent Pager uses photo identification as well as scans of key data points on the finger (not fingerprints). Once your child is registered in Parent Pager, he/she may be checked into any class at one of the computer kiosk in the children’s area. You will receive a check-in slip from the printer as well as a name tag for your child to wear. Your child should give the check-in slip to their teacher. To pick up your child, return to a kiosk to receive a check-out slip to take to the class. Note that GoKids may check themselves in at a kiosk (if their finger has been scanned) but can NOT check themselves out.

All GoKids begin in the GoKids room for worship and Bible Story. They will then go to their classes based on grades. You will check your child out at their classroom.

The Answers Are Here

How do I check-in/check-out my child?

Once your child is registered with Parent Pager (see Registration), you or your child may use a kiosk in the children’s area to check in before any class. To check them out, you will need to return to a kiosk and then take the check-out slip to their class.

What Sunday School curriculum do you use in GoKids?

Sunday Mornings we use The Gospel Project for Kids. The Gospel Project® for Kids delivers engaging Bible story videos, fun-filled activities and more to help us teach kids how God’s plan of redemption unfolds throughout Scripture and is relevant today. Kids will gain a clear understanding of the entire gospel story—how all of Scripture points to the gospel of Jesus. Sunday Evenings, we use 252 Basics. Based on Luke 2:52, the curriculum is built around Three Basic Truths: Wisdom – I need to make the wise choice; Faith – I can trust God no matter what; Friendship – I should treat others the way I want to be treated. The Three Basic Truths are amplified through 36 monthly virtues (such as kindness, generosity and faith) and 150 Bible stories. Every week there is a key TRUTH or bottom line that we drive home. Each week we send home weekly devotions for kids to encourage them to spend time reading the Bible and talking to God at home. Using GodTime cards at home with their parents will help them establish a lifelong habit of spending time with God.

What Sunday morning class should my child attend?

Both 9:30 and 11:00 classes are identical in regard to the lesson and activities. We suggest that you choose one of the times that works best for your family and attend that same class each Sunday. This allows your child to connect to the same kids and teachers, making friends and building relationships.

Can my child stay for both classes on Sunday mornings?

No. If your volunteer during one of the service times, your child should attend class while you serve and then attend worship together as a family the hour you do not serve.

What Bible do you use in GoKids?

We encourage kids to bring their Bible from home so that they get into the habit but have plenty of Bibles they can use (NIrV Adventure Bible). We use and recommend the NIrV because it is easier for beginner readers.

Who are the Teachers in GoKids?

They are volunteers who lead the children through the Bible lesson and activities. They are serious about having fun with kids and passionate about teaching the bible. Some are parents of young kids, others are not parents yet or are parents of adult children. Each Sunday morning class have two couples that rotate monthly. On Sunday nights, we have paid workers so that our volunteers can attend Life Groups. Wednesday nights are taught by couples and helpers as needed.
